Germany’s Messe Frankfurt, which is one of the top trade fair organizers, has decided to take over the ‘Ethical Fashion Show’ in Paris in an attempt to bring green fair trade fashion into the spotlight. The six year old event, which is one of the high points of the Fashion Week was announced by the organizer on Friday. Messe Frankfurt is the third largest trade fair firm making a turnover of around .5b euros annually. The company currently runs around 100 fairs around the globe, a third of which are focused on the textile industry. Polo Ralph Lauren this week opened its newest – and one of its largest – stores on the Boulevard Saint Germain in Paris. Covering some 13,000 square-feet, the store will be home to a premier assortment of Ralph Lauren collections as well as the impressive restaurant “Ralph’s” – the very first Ralph Lauren restaurant in Europe. The Saint Germain store is located in one of Paris’ most prestigious shopping areas. The building is a hôtel particulier —the original Parisian townhouse a grand scale. 30 year old London designer Erdem Moralioglu who has had designed clothes for notable figureheads Samantha Cameron, Sarah Brown, and Michelle Obama was announced this week as the recipient of the British Fashion Council/ Vogue Designer Fashion Fund.
