London shopping centre, Westfield London,  is bringing the excitement of one of its fashion shows to life for the online community, with the use of new video technology- ‘hotspotting’. The interactive technology has been applied by Westfield London to footage of the recent ‘Greatest Fashion Show on Earth’ catwalk show, featuring clothes from designers and brands including Twenty8Twelve, Ted Baker, Karen Millen and Hobbs. The creation of this digital catwalk means that anyone who could not attend the event can now watch the show from a virtual front row , while the ’hotspot’ element allows viewers to click on any piece of clothing that catches their eye and instantly find out more information about the item. Forget natural leather and wool fibre, the newest accessory trend is manmade goods made of plastic from the toes all the way up to the head and from the catwalk onto High Street. Once a cheap seaside shoe, the jelly shoe is making a comeback due to its revival by Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood, and Diane Von Furstenberg, only this time it has become pumps, sandals, and stilettos and has even achieved the status of a must have summer item. Those who cannot fathom paying top price for a small piece of plastic should be happy to learn that Barratts has launched their own line of jelly sandals for a mere, affordable £15. However, shoes are not the only item that plastic is hitting, as the bag is also becoming plastic, although this time the bags are large, reusable, and   Read More ...

The pop music star Lily Allen has decided to change her life.  She has repudiated the world of superficial fame to bring democracy to the masses.  Instead of performing for enthusiastic fans, she’s going to open a rental clothing shop that will carry high-fashion garments too expensive for the average trendy young woman to buy. The idea is that couture-hungry shoppers will be able to rent the ensemble of their dreams just for that one special occasion, then bring it back, at a fraction of the cost of owning it. In February this year Lily Allen received one of the U.K.’s most coveted accolades in the music world, the Brit Award, for Best Female Solo Artist.  She accepted the award, but said it doesn’t mean anything to her, since it’s just a matter of who puts up the most money   Read More ...
