The North is back with the northerners once again creating their own brand of casual wear that will launch for a second time this summer with a new website and a new range of products. The second time around, the North will offer casual clothing to those who have a strong identity including hoodies, polos, hats, and accessories each of which will have the slogan “The North” on them which pretty much denotes where the wearer is from. The clothing brand was first launched in 1996 to celebrate their heritage with simple clothes and no frills that show no concern for the obvious frilly, fickly fashion trends of the London media. Street Fashion

High fashion got a prelude during last week as designers displayed their spring-summer 2011 collections for second lines with lower prices on the eve of haute couture displays about to debut in Paris. Vivienne Westwood the British madcap, AF Vadencorst the Belgian design duo, and Anne Valerie Hash the French designer all offered up their most accessible, commercial lines.  For the most part the lines were composed of light knits in layered styles that resembled outfits that most people would wear. Referred to as Paris Fashion Days the event was designed with the aim of offering second lines a chance to get seen on the glamour scene. Britain’s Next Top Model will hit television screens this week with a new host, Elle MacPherson, who will be looking over the contestants with a critical eye with aid from Grace Woodward, Julien MacDonald, and Charley Speed. Speed, age 30, stated that everything is much better now with a higher profile that has been rising since he began to model when he was aged 17.  Since then he has been in major campaigns such as Calvin Klein next to Kate Moss and has walked the catwalks for Versace, Prada, and Gucci.
