Luckily for men and women alike, with many ladies and men’s jackets hitting British stores, we can find a way to stay warm and stay fashionable all at once. While most of us wish that summer would go on forever and the warm sun could always be at our beck and call, it doesn’t mean that we have to look at winter as a time in which we are stuck inside due to the cold temperatures that take hold of Britain. Dressing for the weather is of course very important. In order to ensure that we can stay healthy and avoid falling victim to a nasty Read More ...

Don’t try catching up with Matthew Williamson these days because he is so busy. He threw a party to publicize his new book; right after Fashion Week had him all tied up. The party was at Somerset House and was to celebrate the introduction of “Matthew Williamson” a coffee table sized book telling of his latest twelve years in pictures, some of which depict his favourite muses, Sienna Miller and Kate Winslet. His diffusion line will premiere next autumn and be called, appropriately enough, “Muse by Matthew Williamson.” Along with that, he and Net-A-Porter will reintroduce seven of his popular dresses featuring an archive print. Josef Velosa, who is Williamson’s business partner, has expressed that they thought the time was most opportune to introduce a diffusion line, especially since the first line has such a solid identity. The catwalk show at Paris Fashion Week on Saturday had a bit of a different perspective than the average, in fact hugely different. Beth Ditto, the American ‘Gossip’ singer and performer of major proportions (U.K. size 28) opened Jean-Paul Gaultier’s show with a bravura a cappella number, and closed it with a turn on the catwalk in one of his specially designed creations. The punk rock singer is known for her flamboyant and unapologetic appearance on stage, and she made quite an impression as she strutted her considerable stuff on the runway. Her performance ended with Gaultier’s congratulations and presentation of a glass of champagne and a bouquet of pink roses. The show on Saturday was Gaultier’s collection of spring/summer ready-to-wear creations, and it was described as “exploring the contrast between XXL and XXS”. However, only one other model was Read More ...
