Those in London this week have been given a glimpse into what is in-store for fashion next spring and summer. It seems that fashions are going to be centred around super-sized hats, prints of sun rays, pastels and floral patterns. Many of those at the event seemed to very much like what was on offer and this included several big celebrities. Next spring and summer seem like a very long time away, but there is no reason why the fashion conscious cannot get involved with some of the styling being seen on the catwalk right now. The theme of the English seaside is being taken on by Mulberry who has created maxi dresses that look like the colours of lollipops, and they have also included some rain coats in bright yellow into their collection. A quite different beach scene has Read More ...

One of the hardest parts of a catwalk show is getting the perfect balance between hair and clothes. When the collection is as vibrant and dramatic as the new collection from Basso and Brooke, it’s even more of a problem as model’s hair is traditionally elaborate and that will go against the essence of the items which Basso and Brooke are showing. “The trick was to virtually underplay the hair so that there was no chance of it clashing with the colours and prints that were the mainstay of the collection”, so says the creative director of ghd, Kenna. They certainly managed that, and the models hairs were feminine, very soft and with a natural dishevelment that managed to embrace both their eccentricities and individuality. To create this look yourself all you need are a few ghd products; some Root Read More ...

A typical example of this was the Stella McCartney dress worn recently by actress Kate Winslet which, thanks to clever Read More ...

Oscar de la Renta and Valentino were both at Diane Von Furstenberg, and they were wearing almost exactly the same thing. The two designers are known for their fashion as well as their singing. Both of them were sitting in the front row and their matching outfits narrowly avoided being a fashion mistake. At Fashion’s Night Out, which occurred last week, Mr de la Renta was seen wearing a khaki suit with an open collared blue shirt. Valentino was last noted for performing great renditions of ‘Unforgettable’ and ‘My Way,’ at Carine Roitfeld’s party where he also wore a blue shirt, but with a tie. With the synced outfits, some other people at the event could be thinking that they were going to perform some singing together, but in an interview later it turns out that it was nothing more Read More ...
