Fashion is a funny thing.  In fact sometimes the same fashion fad can be hysterically funny to some observers and the epitome of chic to others.  Everyone can think of at least one ‘hot’ catwalk design that lasted about six weeks and then mercifully died and went to wherever awful fashions go.  Some items of apparel, however, never quite go out of fashion, though they go through infinite changes.  Case in point is the jumper. If you want the precise definition of ‘jumper’ when it comes to fashion, forget it.  There is no precise definition.  Basically, though, it’s a garment to cover the upper body.  Note the ‘cover’ part; jumpers aren’t designed to fit closely or show off cleavage.  In fact Sarah Lund, who may have been the major catalyst in this jumper trend due to her role in ‘The   Read More ...

X Factor, the show, has apparently been losing some of its popularity, but wait:  now it’s part of a new fashion fad to the extent that it seems like half the celebs in Hollywood and the U.K. are sporting X Factor prints.  Well, maybe not.  Actually the design turns out to be the work of a French designer, Isabel Marant, and the print is not the X Factor logo as originally suspected, but a design based on a native American motif. Whatever it is, it’s showing up all over the place.  First it was seen this week at LAX when reporters spotted Cheryl Cole with the skin-tight pants in a print that had a lot of observers speculating about her motives and postulating a possible dig at Simon Cowell, who fired her from the U.S. X Factor show a few   Read More ...
