Boho dead. Repeat. Boho dead. You’d probably know that unless those around you lacked complete fashion sense. To be clear, it is safer to say that the look is not mainstream any longer. It is a major trend no more. But that does not necessarily mean that the world has got rid of its floaty fabrics, cow boy boots, and coin belly dresses. The new look that has evolved is Foho. These clothes are now accessorized with more modern and state of the art accessories.

Foho may be a really tasteless and absolutely unstylish term, in short, naff term, but the coining of the word was done by a newspaper agency after all. The daily telegraph were the first to ever mention the word but it is now used by everyone, whether they re the hoity toity fashion gurus or the common folk. It is the Boho look with a twist. Folk culture has influenced the bohemian and the look created by doing so is Foho.

If Boho was wild, Foho is understated and mute. It fuses classis 1970s silhouettes, hippy prints, and crochet trims with subtle pieces of clothes. High end designer labels are worn with thrift store, vintage clothing. The mix is balanced and refined. It is not all wild nor all sober. Stone washed jeans are back with the foho look. To jazz up a look, big shiny bags are used as accessories. It is a lot cooler than the bohemian look and pays tribute to the 1970s hippie movement at the same time.

The Seen

Sienna Miller and Kate Moss have been spotted wearing this look. Sienna Miller used to be a great Boho fan, but with time, she got fed up of the ‘wild’ lifestyle that went with the look and sobered down her look a notch. Hence, Foho. Though it could be said that Kate Moss really started the trend, Sienna Miller made more live appearances in it so she is more popularly attributed with the look. Kirsten Dunst too has been seen sporting the look but her dress sense is way too bizarre for anyone to actually follow.

The Shops

This is one look that is hard to shop for. No particular designer specifically designs clothes to suit this look. Since this style depends more or less on people’s personality and moods, a little creativity is needed to pull it off. Stone washed jeans can be bought from Calvin Klein. A little Foho can be bought from Kate Moss’s Top Shop and Sienna Miller’s twenty8twelve.

The Time

This is a look meant for summer and maybe even fall and is expected to be seen worn throughout this year and maybe next year too. It is perfect for a day out shopping, at the beach, or lunching with friends. Look to Daniel P Dykes for inspiration. He is sure to mention the latest trends on his blogs on his website in the near future and is sure to mention if he plans on introducing a Foho line himself.
