The UK’s leading independent celebrity fashion website issued its quarterly index of the most popular celebrity fashion searches and Cheryl Cole has taken the lead from Kate Moss, who drops from 1st to outside of the top 20.
Celebrities go out of fashion as quickly as clothes apparently, according to the most recent report on the ‘most searched for female celebrities’ by the UK’s leading independent celebrity fashion website.
www.MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk, a female celebrity style-stealing site that attracts more than 1 million unique visits per month has revealed that Cheryl Cole is the most searched for celebrity of the current quarter and that many celebrities that were often searched for towards the end of last year do not even make the top 20 searches just 3 months on.
Amongst the notable absentees from the top 20 most searched for celebrities are fashion models Kate Moss and Agyness Deyn, who were the third and fifth most searched for celebrities respectively just 3 months ago. The models’ high ranking last year may have been a result of coinciding with London Fashion Week and the Clothes Show.
Ex-Spice Girl Victoria Beckham has fallen in popularity also, dropping from the 2th most searched for celebrity 3 months ago to outside of the top 20 altogether.
Perhaps the most interesting finding is that three of the Girls Aloud quintet make up the top 3 UK female celebrity searches. Nicola Roberts is the only Girls Aloud member to feature outside the top 10.
When just referencing users from the North West, the top 20 search list includes WAGs Coleen Rooney at 7th, Abbey Clancey at 12th and Victoria Beckham at 19th.
Bafta-winner and Oscar-nominee Kate Winslet makes it into the list for the first time, as does chart-topping overnight sensation Lady Gaga.

Jilly Tovey, Head Fashionista at MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk had the following to say,
“It’s interesting that public affinity for celebrities can be so short lived and dependent on topical events, and even more notable that national fashion treasure Cheryl Cole seems unmovable at the top.
“Although three months seems like a relatively short period of time, this report proves that in the world of celebrities and fashion, public interest can be extremely short-lived.
“Lady Gaga’s sudden emergence has landed her amongst a list of the most household celebrity names in the UK, proving her fashion credentials and popularity with the British public. X-Factor winner Leona Lewis, who Lady Gaga recently publicly criticised, does not feature in the top 30.”
