One of the best and worst times for a woman is when she is pregnant. The glow a woman gets when she is pregnant is to die for but the morning sickness and the sudden weight spurt is not exactly desirable. So what does one wear so as to not look like a frump? With all the planning, doctor appointments, and other stuff to do, women usually forget to bother about dressing up. All those years of watching calories, sudden acne and trying to squeeze into the tiniest clothes go down the drain.

You can not avoid the fact that you will need to but new clothes. The baby in your belly will grow bigger and so will your dress size. You will have to accommodate this into your budget but you can do so without having to break the bank. You can look fashionable while being comfortable. And you will not have to buy yourself an entire new wardrobe.

Raid you wardrobe. And your husband’s. Chances are you will find clothes that will make you feel great about yourself. Every woman has some clothes hidden in her closet that she keeps aside for fat days. Loose shirts and long flowy dresses is something everyone should stock up on. This is something you can wear even when you are not pregnant. Men’s clothes are naturally bigger than women’s so take out your husband, boy friend’s, brother’s or even father’s shirts to make you feel good. The looseness of their clothes will make you feel so comfortable that you might actually wonder why you spent all that time trying to fit into those li’l tops. Men’s formal shirts are chic, smart, loose, ad comfortable. Wear a nice starched white shirt and in no way will you look or even feel like a dumpy, dowdy, pregnant woman.

Sweat shirts, leggings, and oversized shirts are usually what pregnant women live on and in. So are dungarees. But today the clothing available for moms to be is so wide that you might actually have a problem finding the right dress. The safest thing to do is to borrow your friends’ clothes before you buy. Ask your mother or sister or best friend for her clothes that she wore when she was pregnant. You are bound to find something that you like and are comfortable in. Only then should you go out and buy it. Even if you buy something that is too dowdy for you now, hang on to it. You will want it during the later stages of your pregnancy when you will only want to be comfortable. You can also wear empire dresses for black tie events while you are pregnant. Cindy Crawford, Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham… they have all been there and done that. So, so can you!
