Your hair might turn green from either bad colour or from the chlorine in the water caused by too much swimming. What happens can be a major disaster. No one can stand green hair but there are ways to get rid of that green. It may come as a surprise, but, they do work. But you do need to do a test first. Just as you do a skin test, you need to do a hair test too. All products should always be tested on a small patch or else settle with going green. You should have taken those precautions before hand but now that the deed is done, here are the ways to get rid of the colour.
Baking soda when mixed with ordinary shampoo produces fabulous results. Make a paste and let it be on for some time. Rinse this off with cold water. Never rinse this pate with hot or even warm water. To remove a green caused due to chlorine, use a demineralising solution. A product like EC is readily available on the net. You could buy it on eBay or even ask your hair stylist. Practically all salons are stacked up on this product.
Another great way to rinse off that colour is to wash hair with an aspirin soaked in vinegar. But you have to remember to condition your hair well afterwards. You could also use some alka seltzer tablets to a little water and some baby shampoo. This combination of citric acid, aspirin, and sodium bicarbonate works very well to remove stains. Use a lot of this and let it be for five minutes. Wash it normally and condition well. The next time you decide to get into water that is chlorinated, smooth some cocoa butter through your hair. Not only will it prevent the hair from damage, but also create a sexy wet look. Do the same even after swimming. Leave it on for about half an hour and then rinse. You could also rub lots of conditioner in your hair before swimming. This too will protect it from the chlorine.
Why not was your hair with some lemonade? Yes, you heard right, lemonade! Mix some of the powder of your Kool Aid or Tang to your shampoo. You could also just rub some of the powder to damp hair. Work this completely into your hair till it dissolves completely. You will need to do this at least a couple of time in one sitting.
Make a conditioner mix with a little more than half a cup of baking soda. Shake it well and apply this mix to your hair for about 10 minutes. Apple cider vinegar works just as well and so does tomato ketchup. If the stains are really tough apply the paste onto your hair directly. Remember to cover your hair with a cap meant for showers or else you’ll end up with blood like stains all over the place.
Leave every mixture that you make for at least five to ten minutes if you want it to work. And try and avoid letting it get into your eyes or else you’ll have a double problem at hand!
