Famous Wedding Dress from the Movies

A latest poll gives the list of the most elegant personalities ever in the history of the fashion world. Princess Diana was rated as the most elegant woman followed by Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. Even today, movies by the two actresses are watched and their style statements are remembered. They can be called the two true legendary style icons of all time. There is a major chance that when any woman is asked about who she would like to look like on her wedding, she would mention of these fabulous women. The movies they acted in had them dressed up in gorgeous bridal gowns that can never be forgotten.

One of the most remembered wedding dress would be the one Audrey Hepburn wore in the movie Funny Face. She was not technically a bride in the movie but was modelling the dress for someone in Paris. It is said that Audrey Hepburn has never looked more breathtaking than she did in that dress in that particular scene. The dress by Givenchy was a ballet style dress with a full skirt. The body was fitted and had one of those drop waists. It had a wonderful neckline and tiny little cap sleeves. It was a little shorter than the normal ankle length dress and was the perfect dress to dance in. It also showed off those cute shoes to boot. This wedding dress is for the bride who wants to mix tradition with modernity. It is for someone with spunk. Only she can carry off the short dress on her wedding day. This would be an ideal dress for a morning wedding or a garden wedding. The dress should have a short veil too. The jewellery should be clean, polished, elegant, simple, and chic. Pearls go perfectly with this 50s inspired dress. The portrait neck is meant for a wonderful pearl necklace.

Another iconic dress would be the one Grace Kelly wore in the movie High Society. This is her character’s second wedding and the dress had to be just right for such an occasion. Not many brides want to go all traditional and wear a gigantic Cinderella ball gown on their second attempt down the isle. Especially older brides feel silly all decked up to the hilt.

The dress was a simple summery dress in soft yellow and had a design of floral sprigs on it. The sleeves were three quarter in length and sheer and barely there. The dress would look best with a hat with a wide brim and some floral detail work. She wore Swarovski crystals with her dress in the movie. She was a bride after all. Swarovski crystals are always the best options for brides who want to shine through on their wedding day but still not end up looking like a big meringue.

So for a bride who really wants to look elegant on her wedding day, look no further. Just go and watch these two movies for inspiration. It really doesn’t get any better than this.
