The 10th birthday celebrations of Peter Jensen’s label will continue over the course of the next month as he becomes the star of the Fashion In Motion event held at theVictoria &AlbertMuseum. The catwalk show will feature his menswear and womenswear collections from the past decade and also some of his collaborations.
Jensen explained that there will be plenty of pieces that represent the ten years the label has been creating fashion which will surprise many since many will not realize just how much the label has put out over the years. He also added that they will bring in some of the backdrops that were featured in pervious shows such as the Charlotte Mann backdrop from the summer 2007 collection and the Andy Hillman Sissy Sign that was used for the spring/summer 2006 range.
The designer added that he cannot wait to show his work at the Victoria & Albert Museum which he has been a fan of since he was a child, but that it was not something that he had expected since he never thought that he would famous enough to have the offer extended to him.
In conjunction with the show, an anniversary book will also be available for purchase at the museum gift shop which Jensen says makes him feel like he an old celebrated designer.
The label originally began with designs just for men but over the years it has grown to include women’s clothing as well. Jensen’s designs have become known for unconventional designs that are still wearable and are quite popular at both New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week.
