The Dolce & Gabbana catwalk show was undaunted by the scheduling conflict with the Oscars, and with the continuing case charging them with tax evasion. But is true, at least in Milan, that the show must go on.
All the celebrities were preoccupied with their introspective ceremonies in Hollywood, leaving them out of the audience at this fashion show. The Milan show was not in the spotlight, so even those few who were not at the Oscars were not going to go out of their way to make an appearance in Milan.
An innovative entertainment was the alternative for the audience with smart phones or BlackBerry’s. They were allowed to make comments and when posted Online, they would appear on the big screen over the catwalk. Their goal was to instil a personal element to the show for the audience.
Stefano Gabbana was nervously brandishing his gum like sportsman on the sidelines, as he checked again for lint. Meanwhile comments plopped up on the screen, “I love the red wine” and “You’re always fantastic.”
As far as the Sensuality collection was concerned, it was Masculine-like Feminine look. Yet, as diverse as the collection is it is anyone’s guess which outfit will bring in the cash at Via della Spiga. The signature Sicilian look was unmistakable: the pout, wiggle, high heels, and the star-studded stretch jersey dress or lace.
The manly ones were there to put right in the forefront of business women’s minds that Dolce & Gabbana is always the expert in tailored suits.
However, in spite of the frenzy of fashion, the couple are under scrutiny of tax evasion in the sum of €416m, or £355 million. They pleaded not guilty. It was also other senior executives and Alfonso, Dolce’s brother, who were being investigated.
We would love to hear your thoughts.
