Despite it being just a little over a year since Manuela Morin took on the role of creative head of accessories for Reiss, she has produced two highly impressive collections that have gone down a storm on the high street. On the back of this success, she has been given the opportunity to take over the entire package and has just been named as their new creative director of womenswear.

She certainly has the pedigree, as glancing through her CV is like reading through an A-Z of luxury leather goods. From her first appointment with Bottega Veneta, the exclusive Italian brand, and through her stints with Stella McCartney and Tanner Krolle, Manuela she has gained experience, momentum and pulled away from her competitors in a market that is littered with has-beens and wannabes.

Speaking of her appointment at Reiss, Manuela says that she finds it very exciting working for the company, and her main goal was to captivate their customers and continue to further strengthen the identity of the brand and continue to produce goods that epitomised the three main aspects of the company which are cool, sexy and modern.

The brand is certainly enjoying its time in the spotlight, into which it was catapulted when a certain Kate Middleton wore a Reiss dress to celebrate her engagement to her handsome prince. She has continued to wear Reiss items ever since, and this kind of publicity and endorsement is the kind that many companies can only dream about.

With Manuela on board and their garments selling out as soon as the young, beautiful and effortlessly stylish Duchess is spotted in one, Reiss look like they will spending their time in the sun for a long time to come.

The Duchess of Cambridge has managed to make the top of the International Best Dressed list at Vanity Fair for the third year in a row. Her title will officially be announced in the glossy this September, but it is something to be proud of now given how many top fashion figures she had to beat in order to get the title including Bull Cunningham, Les Seydoux, Jessica Chastain, and Diane Kruger.

One of the reasons that she won such high praise was the fact that she often chooses home grown designers from the UK such as Matthew Williamson, Alexander McQueen, and a handful of high street brands. In the magazine spread Kate Middleton is pictured with her husband Prince William wearing a Jenny Packham gown in a photo taken in May.

Another shot shows Kate in a vibrant red Alexander McQueen number that she wore to the premier of the London War Horse back in January. The Duchess is known for almost always wearing British labels as well as always being in style. One of her go- to dressers is Roksanda Illincic who has been very helpful with her wardrobe choices.

Middleton is not the only Royal to be featured in Vanity Fair however as it seems that the young Royals are just now coming into their own in the Royal Family with Princes William and Harry also getting their own nods for being fashion conscious.

Prince Harry in particular made the list at number 27 for best dressed while the HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark came in at 32 on the list and Monaco’s Charlotte Casiraghi came in at number 35. Of course, all of the notable names in fashion also made the list such as Stacey Bendent, Erika Bearman, and Stella McCartney.

Somewhat ironically, Prince Charles has made the list of GQ’s best dressed men. Ironic, because he has regularly featured among the list of worst dressed as well, making his celebratory rise to the top of the world of fashion a little bemusing to those in the industry.

Charles, a regular contributor to style issues, talks about his own view on fashion in the new edition of GQ. The Prince was recently host at a function to signify the start of male fashion week, the aptly titled London Collections: Men.

The Prince’s staple piece, the classic well-cut double breasted suit has stood the test of time over the years, seemingly out of favour only to bounce back when least expected. To be fair, Charles’s style isn’t totally his own, as he has Saville Row’s finest available for advice and guidance at any time.

It’s likely some of the more urbane and street wear inspired styles on display during male fashion week may not appeal to the Prince’s own personal style. But Charles has shown over many years he can appreciate the finer things in life, whether or not they are to his own liking.

Kate Middleton wore a series of stunning and stylish outfits over the weekend for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. She also showed how big a fan she is of designer Alexander McQueen by choosing some of his creations once again. The first one the Duchess of Cambridge wore was on Sunday at the Jubilee Thames River Pageant. For this she chose a scarlet red dress by McQueen which had previously been seen on Kim Kardashian and Tulisa Contostavlos.

Kate had chosen a long-sleeved version of the dress which she wore with a red hat and nude shoes. It looked very elegant and complemented her hair and complexion perfectly. It has been commented upon that she was diverting attention from the Queen who was wearing white, but it certainly made Kate stand out from the crowd. It was obviously the Queen’s day and although Kate looked stunning, the main focus of attention was certainly the Queen.

On Monday the Duchess was with the rest of the Royals, attending the Diamond Jubilee Concert outside Buckingham Palace. There they watched the line-up of stars performing for the Queen which included Elton John, Robbie Williams and Stevie Wonder. Kate wore an Alexander McQueen blazer over a Bella dress from high street brand, Whistles. She looked great again and gets it just right when she matches high street clothes with designer brands.

Kate chose Alexander McQueen again for the final day of the celebrations on Tuesday. This was the ceremonial day and there was a Thanksgiving Service at St. Pauls, a lunch at Westminster and an appearance on Buckingham Palace balcony. The Duchess was wearing a very stylish, knee-length, lace dress which was the same colour as her nude shoes. She accompanied these with an oyster sash and a Jane Taylor hat.

Kate in Ottawa for Canada Day 2011 croped 215x300 Duchess of Cambridge wows followers of fashionThe Duchess of Cambridge is now quite familiar with fashion statements, but regardless of how you feel about the press, it is hard to deny that she has a strong sense of style that plays well in all of the outfits that she chooses to adorn.

What is ironic is the fact that even though her style sense is traditional and classic, it has started to affect the fashion environment in the UK and other countries.

One thing that she has done is bring back the popularity of navy blue. Kate is not a large fan of black and replaces this basic fashion staple with blue as can been seen with a quick look at her engagement dress and the many cocktail dresses, skirt suits, and military skirts that she chooses to wear on a regular basis.

Kate and her family are also large fans of nude shoes as they choose to pair items such as LK Bennett Sledge Courts to complete many of their outfits. The Middleton family has spurned such a craze for the shoes that the first time they were identified in the press the LK Bennett website actually crashed for a few hours from the amount of traffic it received. Just a short time afterwards the shoe was completely sold out everywhere.

Although Sarah Burton was already helping to bring notice to Alexander McQueen’s range, when Kate Middleton chose her to design her famous wedding dress it helped turn the label from a top fashion name to a top household name.

Nude stockings are also quite popular now that the duchess looks so amazing in them and the way she chooses to wear them makes them almost look avant-garde, instead of old fashioned which is a very unique way to go with stockings period.

After the Royal Wedding, Debenhams saw their sales of nude tights increase by 65% over just two weeks. For this reason the Duchess of Cambridge has become a favourite among high street designers because once she chooses one of the labels they can sit back and watch as the sales come in with almost no marketing attempts on their part.

Even better, Kate chooses clothing that is usually in the average women’s budget making it popular among everyone, and not just those who happen to have the high budgets to match the Royal Family
