British menswear designers are finally getting their own moment in the spotlight with the announcement that a new event is to be launched in 2012. LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN will make its catwalk début on Friday June 15, running for two days and three nights until Sunday 17 June. Bosses at Britain’s most prestigious racecourse have been forced to apologise to customers after plans to introduce and enforce a new dress code suffered a disastrous start. Ascot had announced that Saturday 21 January would see the launch of new rules for those in attendance in the premier enclosure, including a ban on fascinators for women and men being forced to wear jackets and ties.
