Lively legs create a fabulous range of flat shoes for every occasion

The Lively Legs brand has been seen as somewhat of a revolution in women’s footwear, and they have just released a range of delectable new shoes just in time for the good weather. Their chic collection of uber luxurious and stylishly elegant flats have been designed to pair up effortlessly with any item in your wardrobe, be it an outfit befitting a city slicker or one favoured by a sun worshipper.

The shoes are hand made with an exacting attention given to detail and the entire collection combines style and comfort. They carry gorgeous accents that will be fully appreciated by today’s modern and active woman who wants to retain her sense of style while she goes about her every day life. This product is just the first from Lively Legs this year as later in 2013 we will be treated to their brand new range of shoes with folding soles.

All Lively Legs shoes all made entirely by hand from only the most luxurious of materials; butter-soft calf leather, sumptuous suede and pony hair make up the exclusive range of moccasins, ballet flats and loafers. The genuine leather used within means each shoe fits like a second skin and provides the highest levels of comfort. With everything from driving shoes and casual day flats to stylish shoes appropriate for both work and play, Lively Legs has sophisticated and en vogue footwear solutions for every woman in every situation.

With spring approaching, and the annual transitional wardrobe woes in full swing, a stylish pair of flats helps bridge the gap between seasons. Finished with on-trend, decadent brocade, the classic gold and black ‘Nanjing Road’ Pointed Oriental Brocade Loafers pair with stonewashed denim jeans, a boucle jacket and a petite clutch for off-duty dressing made easy. This outfit can be worn from day to night, with no need for a change in footwear; the look is appropriate for lunch with the girls as well as a dinner date in the evening with just a switch in accessories or a slick of lipstick.

Work wardrobes are notoriously tricky to navigate, especially for the women who spend many hours on their feet as part of their jobs. Rushing out to perform the early morning coffee run for the rest of the office, or running for the train after a long day can be a difficult task in 4-inch heels; Lively Legs’ covetable Via Maistra peach leather ankle boots are comfortable enough to fulfil every duty with ease. With a city style and echoes of the classic desert ankle boot, they are firmly on trend for new season dressing, but also unexpectedly feminine and graceful. Made from soft peach leather, they go from desk to bar to weekend shopping spree with nothing more than a change of trouser required.

In tropical punch pink, the new Worth Avenue driving moccasins take centre stage whether the wearer is planning a road trip or a trip to the mall. In utterly wearable, ultra soft leather and handcrafted to boot, the moccasins provide breathable comfort and with rubber traction nubs on the sole, are suitable for any tricky mid-season showers. Grey and brown versions are also available.

The new spring range is available to buy online now and will be complimented by the highly anticipated mid-year launch of Lively Legs new foldable sole designs. Before that, a unique design customisation offering will make its debut in the forthcoming Lively Legs retail store. Shoppers will be able to choose from three styles of shoe, add their own accents and select their preferred colour and material to create an utterly bespoke design.

All styles can be purchased online at www.livelylegs.co

According to sources from Kantar Worldpanel, the M&S fashion brand lost 0.4% of their shares in the market and underwent a 1.3% decrease in retail sales in the weeks after the 20th of January. However, as much as M&S suffers through the ordeal, high end brand Zara and lower end budget chain Primark showed a doubling of sales, as with H&M, Next and Debenhams as reported by the Sunday Times.

Because of the increase in other retail chains and the decrease in sales at Marks and Spencer, there will be a lot of pressure on CEO Marc Bolland especially after the devastating results that came after the Christmas holidays. Studies show that sales have decreased by 1.8% in the United Kingdom from the 29th of December up to those following weeks as well as a devastating 3.8% blow on general merchandise.

The Marks and Spencer group had taken ex Debenhams and Jaegar chief Belinda Earl to improve the face of womenswear and ultimately give the brand a once-over. However, Earl had mentioned that their last trading gig had felt that it was a “greatly promotional and very challenging” retail market and that it lacked time to further apply their plans on improving the brand.

Thus, the new Autumn Winter collection spearheaded by Earl will only be launched this July, quite late considering that other retail chains launch their collections right before the season starts. Judging from their increase in sales, it looks like avid shoppers are more attracted to low priced fashion that Primark offers.

The Kantar figures were taken from the National Statistics, which reported a decrease of sales in January due to the snow affecting several areas of the United Kingdom. Kantar was not available for comments while Marks and Spencer refused to give out comments as well.

Do you hate money? Do you like exchanging formerly loved items for old tat? Do you want to lose your friends? Then swapping clothes is for you!

Unless you’re friends with Carrie Bradshaw, one of the Gossip Girls, or another person with an unrealistically large and well-stocked wardrobe – I’d strongly suggest selling your clothes rather than swapping them.

If you want to embroil yourself in a world of drama – by all means , try swapping. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. If you want to be coerced into trading your lovely designer angora jumper for a pair of mustard and puce polka-dot tights with a ladder in them, go for it.

Selling your clothes beats swapping every time, and here’s why:

1. Cash. Cold hard cash. I’m not going to pretend you’ll get mega-bucks for your old clothes, but anything is better than nothing. If you sell designer clothes in particular, you can bring a few quid in. You can auction them off, or if that’s too much of a pain, sites like musicmagpie let you indicate the brand of your clothes and pay accordingly. Even older clothes not in great condition can be bagged up, picked up from your house, and exchanged for cash.

2. Not getting lumbered with stuff no-one wants. If you swap your clothes, your only option is to exchange your garments for those of your friends. Which is great if your friends are amazingly stylish,       filthy rich and exactly the same size as you. But if you live in the real world, you’re much more likely to be swapping for a party dress covered in kebab grease. That’s 2 sizes too small. That everyone’s seen being worn by your friend in countless facebook pics.

3. Laziness or, as I like to call it, being economical with effort. Selling your clothes online is so easy, you barely have to leave the sofa, let alone organise a swap-meet with your friends. The easiest possible way is to use one of the cash for clothes sites – my recommendation is the site above. A few drop-down boxes is all they need to determine how much your clothes are worth. They’ll pick them up from your house and they can even transfer the money directly                into your bank account. Which you can then spend on more clothes, online.

There should be no doubt in your mind now. Raid the back of the wardrobe, check the attic, grab those clothes that have been draped over the treadmill for the last 6 months – and sell them!

Square Mile magazine is a luxury lifestyle publication that comes out on a monthly basis for affluent executives in the city, and February sees the launch of its first style issue. This glossy monthly already covers a vast and varied range of topics, from alternative investments and fine wines to financial affairs and fast cars, but this latest issue clearly marks a move into the arena of fashion.

“There’s a lot of pressure to look good in the City, from the trading floor to the boardroom,” explains Square Mile editor Mark Hedley. “It’s not about showing off, necessarily; it’s more about looking the part. People won’t take you seriously unless you’re dressed seriously. And when you’re dealing with money – whether it’s making it or looking after it – this is crucial.”

The February Style Issue will also launch the Square Mile Style Awards. Over the first half of 2013, Square Mile will be running a competition to find the most stylish man and woman in the City. Nominations will be made by readers online at squaremile.com and a panel of experts will help determine who wins the awards – and the bragging rights.

Contributors to the issue will include style guru Jeremy Langmead, fashion fanatic Josh Sims and watch expert Robin Swithinbank.

One of the main features will cover the evolving taste in men’s fashion in the City from the yuppie era to the present day.

In celebration of the debut Style Issue, Square Mile is also an official partner of London Fashion Weekend (21-24 Feb) and will be hosting an exclusive VIP evening in conjunction with the event.

Like every edition of Square Mile, the Style Issue will be available in print and on iPad. Having increased its print run during 2012, Square Mile now prints 50,000 copies every month and is distributed by both post and hand to subscribers and from various distribution points throughout the City.

It’s good to know that famous celebrities are also contributing in fund raising and trying to collect money for victims of natural disasters. Tsunami survivor Petra Nemcova is one name seen often on news being at forefront of major fund raising campaigns. She was looking outstanding, beautiful, and attractive in red dress which she wore while launching a new charity drive.

Petra Nemocova wants to relief the stress of those who have been suffering from disaster. She wants everyone to be happy for a good cause, and for she is doing a lot. At the Bloomingdale’s Department store event, the super model stepped out in New York, wearing a sizzling red dress and a beautiful smile on the lips, to launch Happy Day.

The 33-yeard-old lady in red is a kindred spirit for sure who has partnered with Clinique to raise money for a charity campaign known as “Happy Hearts”, the purpose behind launching it is to encourage people to be happy.

Petra’s cocktail dress has a modern twist and look that made her to earn fame, respect, and love at the show. She polished her look with a pair of nice nude heels and wore a beautiful half updo hairstyle that complemented her knee-length red dress quite wonderfully.

The beauty has also donated her costly dress on Official Happy Day, spreading the message of care and love to people. The whiff of special-made perfumed added more beauty and elegance to her dress.

Together with Clinique, Petra is now spreading a message of love, honesty, and patience everywhere in the world and has raised good deal of fund through the sale of perfume and dress. With Victoria’s Secret officially opening in London the £1.5bn lingerie market is really starting to heat up as M&S, Agent Provocateur, and Victoria’s Secret are battling it out for women’s money.

What is interesting about the lingerie market is the fact that it is one area where people continue spending despite the market outlook. For instance, Marks & Spencer has seen their clothing sales deteriorate, but they are still managing to maintain their 27% of the lingerie market. Woman simply are fickle about where they buy their knickers.

This is due to the fact that underwear for most women is a very emotional purchase and one that oftentimes means buying a five pair of knickers for practical reasons and then the occasional sexy pair of knickers here and there. While women are choosing to go to value retailers when it comes to winter woolies and kids’ clothes, they will still spend the extra money for good underwear from M&S.

The truth is that they simply feel comfortable with the brand they have worn for ages, and even when times are tough there are certain things that you just do not want to cut corners on. It appears that nice knickers are one of these things.

Plus, knickers are a great recession proof treat since you can buy just one pair as a nice treat to one’s self. Therefore, while you may not be able to go out and come home with new clothes, you can probably afford to pick up a new pair of sexy underwear to make you feel better about yourself.

Now that Agent Provocateur and Victoria’s Secret have arrived in London, women have more choices and likely this will create an emerging market battle that woman are going to come out the winners from, and a few lucky men.

Holidays are Coming

November 22, 2012

With Christmas fast approaching the high streets will soon be a bustling hive of stressed out consumers. It’s enough to make anyone dread the holiday season, a time when one should spend time with family and relax after another year. Luckily, with the internet being the multi-faceted entity it has become we can put our feet up, avoid the rush and happily shop online with a glass of egg nog at our side.

Another stressful aspect of Christmas is the gift-buying itself. The choices, how to get your special someone that special Christmas gift. There are plenty of websites online with products that will put a smile on the face of your partner. I, myself found a site with wonderful gifts such as this personalised ale and engraved tankard.

Personalised Beer Gift Holidays are ComingIf your boyfriend is an ale drinker. An ale connoisseur as it were. Then this Personalised Ale and Tankard is a great little stocking filler. Presented in a gold box you can add personal inscriptions on the tankard as well as the label of the ale bottle. The ale itself is fantastic, hailing from a small family run business that uses only UK sourced barley.

Pacman Poncho Holidays are ComingIf your boyfriend is less of an ale drinker and more of a lager swilling festival goer. A one with nature kind of guy, who spends his summer stood knee high in mud with the rain hammering down ferociously on his shoulders. This Pac Man Poncho could be the perfect gift. It is quirky and perfect if your boy friend is the type of guy who loves old school video games as well as being a practical solution for those summer rains that we are all becoming so accustomed to.

Treat Him is the perfect website for the small stocking filler gifts to show that you put an extra little bit of thought into. All of the above gifts can be found at the excellent treathim.com along with a selection of many more for all types of tastes. Also, if you are in the habit of choosing your own Christmas gifts because your partner is useless, treather.com is an excellent site for a more female feel.

If you think that Essex Fashion Week is going to be anything like London Fashion Week then it may be time to take a look at Essex itself, because the show is most likely going to be a lot more out there but a lot more fun. For instance, some of the things you can expect to see on the runway include thick lashes, white teeth, hair extensions, busty dresses, and high heels.

When you consider this image, it is easy to see that the Essex Fashion Week is a lot more laid back and in some ways a lot more fun for the normal woman in attendance. The one day event is a great chance for independent and local designers to get out and show of their new collections on the catwalk.

This year, Tresor Paris the diamond expert opened up the event with plenty of sparkle on the runway and some of the evening gowns from Denise Van Weenen really helped to add elegance and more razzle dazzle.

For the more club conscious fashion fan, the bodycon dresses by Bowtique and Hybrid should have been delightful. They are best matched together with a good pair of Spanx since they do not leave much to the imagination!

Children and their parents adored the clothing from Dolly Rocker Kids that is sold at the Dunmow boutique and offered a change of pace for those in attendance as the models were toddlers and young children.

TOWIE designers were also at the event including Frankie Essex, Harry Derbridge, Jessica Wright, and Chloe Sims to show off several of their fashion collections which included bodycon creations from Frankie and maxi dresses from Harry. Chloe also showed off a few mini dresses and Jessica had some fun with lace.

Plus size clothing is a relatively recent innovation in high fashion and before this time there were just various dress sizes. You would simply have to select a dress size that best fitted you and if you couldn’t find one then you were hard out of luck.

Fortunately, for women who are of a larger size, recent fashion innovations have meant that there are now easier options for them to find clothing. It is now easily possible for women who are of a larger size to find large clothes even of the highest fashion.

In 2012 more acceptance of plus size fashion has come onto the market than ever before. Magazines are now shooting models who are larger than the skinny catwalk models of previous years. It used to be the case the plus size models were something of a minority but today they are coming into fashion in numbers which have never been seen before.

Campaigners, designers and individuals are working hard to change the fashion scene away from the very slim models and to women who are of a more normal size. Plus size models have certainly become more mainstream and this is largely because of these campaigners, but also because of pressure from blogs and social networks on fashion creators.

That said, there is still a great deal of discrimination against larger women in the fashion world and they generally do find it harder to get modelling work. People are still campaigning in order to get these women onto the catwalk and have more clothes designed for them. A recent campaign that is working to do this is called ‘Beautiful as I am.’

It is still often the case that some stores are not stocking larger clothing and this is to spread the pressure. It is not really fully understood why some stores don’t want to stock anything for larger women, but it is something that certainly discriminates against them.

It is possible often to buy the clothing online, but larger women might not want to shop just on the internet and will want to try the clothes on. Unfortunately, they may also be discriminated against in the store and find that shop assistants might be rude to them because of their size. This is something that is completely unacceptable and has to change in the fashion world; fortunately there is a lot of campaigning going on to make this happen.

At the party after the official launch and photo-shoot, held at the W Hotel in Los Angeles, Kendall revealed that she wants to be the next Giselle Bundchen.
