Men’s Fashion

FarFetch.com offers a wide variety of clothing option for men and women alike including wicked designer jeans from big designer names. These new summer styles promise great designer style and comfort, promising to show up again and again this season. Out of all the available options for men, three particular pairs stand out the most.

All three options provide a modern take on the classic men’s blue jeans, appealing to the traditional blue jean lover and the trend setter alike. These three designer jeans for men options prove once and for all that blue jeans are no longer for casual occasions.

Junya Wantabe ComDes Garcon
Junya Wantanabe Com Des Garcon blue jean features royal blue dyed denim with a scattered and strategic fading effect throughout. It is complemented by gold stitching throughout, hidden zipper, button fly, and five pockets. The casual style of the jean would pair nicely with T-shirts and button ups. The boot cut jean is made of stretchable cotton, and is available in sizes medium and large. Prices start at $1060.

Loro Piana

The more affordable Loro Piana is a dark washed denim jean. It features a straight leg cut, gorgeous gold stitching, and a five pocket design. It also has a hidden zipper and silver fly button. The solid and darker shade of the jean allows for dressier occasions, making the Loro Piana more versatile than the previous jean. The Loro Piana jean comes in a variety of sizes. Prices start at $491.

Versace Relaxed
The Versace relaxed jean is another dark washed denim jean. Featuring a relaxed fit, hidden zipper, and silver button fly. It also shows off a five pocket design and belt loops. Although the blue-grey wash normally allows for more formal occasions, the slightly baggy cut makes the Versace relaxed jean a casual style choice. This straight leg cut is available is five sizes and pries at $295.00.

All three options would be great editions to any man’s wardrobe, although the Loro Piana provides the most versatility. However, the Junya Wantanabe jean offers a closer and more flattering cut than the Loro Piana, though the price may turn away some buyers. The Versace relaxed jean is the most affordable, but the cut may turn off some buyers as well. Visit farfetch.com to see these and other jean styles.

Riding boots with man appeal

November 10, 2011

Contrary to the old fashioned view of little girls playing with ponies, riding is a sport which is loved by both men and women. You only have to look at the top male equestrians to see the number that are supreme in the riding world, the cream of the crop. They also wear the best gear, including riding boots.

Well, boots may be boots but men are fashion conscious too. BP country knows this and it shows in their fantastic showcase of gentleman’s foot gear. These are the male equestrian’s dream when he is looking for quality that outshines, material that lasts the kicks, scuffs, scratches, water dips and oh, yes…the occasional tumble. Well, even the best of them have to face this from time to time. So, what to look for when purchasing good, solid, classy riding boots? Is it simply a matter of comfortable fit and should you combine that with quality and real leather for the best buy? Is durability the main concern? Is it all in the look and feel?

BP country has taken these factors into account in the production of their tried and tested range of boots for men. Dependability and versatility rank high. They also know that the male riding population wants to look cool and utterly equestrian. They’re not out there as if in a nightclub; they’re there, working in the yard, the stable block, shifting hay, driving the trailer, milling round at the shows, competing for the top spot. No good buying cheap substitutes then.

From Tuffa Morgan, Suffolk or Polo Jodhpur boots, to Just Togs Alberta protective boots, safety is also a major consideration.

Why is this an important feature for covering feet whilst merely sitting in a saddle? Apart from walking around and/or travelling, surely they’re not exactly in the same league as a pair of football boots. Think again. Why not? Horse riding is a dangerous sport and even more so when in the wrong hands with the wrong equipment. Most sporting people will agree that equipment is of prime concern if you are serious about your chosen sport. Horse riding is of no exception and also involves the safety and comfort of an animal whose control is your responsibility.

Well, in horseback riding, injuries are rare as compared to other sports but if a rider is thrown and gets a foot caught in the stirrup, a fatality could occur. Often it is badly fitting or designed riding boots that are the cause. The extensive range of riding boots riding boots for men, include the brand names that are renowned the world over such as Toggi, Tuffa, Mudruckers, Sherwood Forest and others. These best of the best are made of strong leather, offering perfect heel height to avoid catching in a stirrup. Choosing the right boot is important, and male riders can still look fantastic in them. Prices begin around £30 and go up to as much as £300.

Advertorial

Before something can become an icon, it must first be shrouded in years of history and tradition. By that mark, few things are as iconic worldwide as the classic rugby shirt.

From its distinctive design to the way it is worn, the shirt is woven into rugby’s heritage, and much like the sport itself, the shirt has evolved. No longer solely the uniform of the player, the rugby shirt is proudly worn off the pitch by men, women and children alike. How they wear their shirts may vary, but two things remain the same – their love for the sport, and their appreciation of a classic, quality garment that will never go out of style.

The original rugby shirts were made from thick, hardwearing 100% cotton fabric, as the sport required clothing with as much endurance as its players. However, Great British weather conditions would frequently turn rugby pitches to mud, and absorbent cotton rugby shirts to heavy, waterlogged hindrances to the players. Much to their relief, resilient, water-repelling polyester shirts were eventually introduced, but vintage-style cotton remained the fabric of choice for off-pitch rugby shirt wearers. Thus, its status as a fashionable garment was born and casual clothing was changed forever.

The rugby shirt – or ‘rugger’ to those who love it most – has now come to epitomise comfort, versatility and sophistication, all the while evoking memories of mud, friendship and good old fun. When you buy a rugby shirt, you make an investment. It is a garment that will look as good with jeans as it will with tailored trousers, as good beside the pitch or in the pub, and as great in two decades’ time as it does right now. The rugby shirt is supposed to be worn for all occasions, in every weather condition, by every type of person. You’ll want to take care of your rugby shirt, but you can also be assured that it will take care of itself.

Whether you opt for a plain shirt or hooped stripes in classic colours of burgundy, teal and canary yellow, or prefer a more contemporary palette, the silhouette of the vintage rugby shirt and its distinctive white, buttoned collar and matching cuffs will always symbolise integrity. Rugby players are tough, and their dedication to the sport is even tougher. You may never have picked up a rugby ball, but wear a rugby shirt and you’re part of the game – how muddy you get is up to you!

For many years now, Topman has been one of the top clothing retailers for men who want to look effortlessly stylish as well as being bang on trend. Other stores have come and go, and some long standing retailers have fallen by the wayside due to the economic situation, yet due to their quality garments at great prices Topman still have the customers flocking in.

When you are dressed to go out, the finishing touch is cologne, and after 5 years in development, Topman have recently launched their first ever range of perfume and grooming products. Keen not to just jump on the bandwagon and push out fragrances for the sake of it, those clever people at Topman have chosen to spend time and care creating fragrances like no other, and have worked independently with Azzi Glasser, the creator of Agent Provocateur’s fabulous fragrances.

The Topman brand is highly respected throughout the land, and the developers wanted to take their time and ensure that they produced a range of quality and affordable products that ensured they became serious contenders in the fiercely competitive market of men’s grooming. The two fragrances have been simply entitled no’s 16 and 27, a reflection of the original formula numbers they were given during development.

No 16 is a very cool and fresh fragrance, the underlying keynotes of Poivre and Bergemot are emphasised with an essence of fresh air due to the use of Labdanum, Amber and Musk. This creates a fragrance that reacts with body temperature to create a unique scent every time you wear it.

No 27 is distinctive and potentially addictive, comprising of Anise, Neroli and Clarysage. At its heart is Nutmeg and Vetiver, and keynotes of Frankincense, Cedarwood and Oakwood blend effortlessly with skin penetrative musks to make you feel as good as you look.

Male trends in 2011

August 12, 2011

It’s often the case that clothing trends come and go so fast that choosing something that’s going to stay in style long enough for you to wear more than once can prove quite tricky!

Shorts are definitely a fail-safe bet for summer and one shade that is proving popular this season is salmon pink, and this year’s hot shades definitely shine brightest on the legs!

When it comes to footwear, espadrilles are definitely the go to option for summer and look perfect with shorts or casual trousers.  This seasons espadrilles come in a range of shades too, which will brighten up even the dullest of days!

Scarves are another good option, especially on cooler days or chilly evenings, they are the perfect piece to accessorise an otherwise simple outfit and the lighter versions are a safe summer accessory.  Lighter colours in cotton fabrics work great for a daytime look whilst the darker shades in silks are the perfect finishing touch for an evening accessory.   Printed scarves are also big this season and come complete in a range of designs. This kind of style will add a little more oomph to an outfit and most definitely make the man scarf a quirky option for this season!

Sun faded shirts are a must have for every guys summer wardrobe and work best in softer, faded hues.  In fact sun faded shades work great on almost everything this season, especially shorts.  The online fashion website Joe Browns casual shirts come available in light green, ocean blue and faded red.

The fashion website also features a range of faded denim pieces that look great teamed with an open shirt and espadrilles, check out the deckhand jeans for a little summer inspiration.

BeCheeky the online lingerie shop says that many women are fitting their guys out with the very latest in trendy underpants. The company is claiming that their line of patterned boxer briefs are going to be as big a hit with the men as they are with the women who are buying them. They enjoyed knockout sales over Christmas and say that Valentine scan only attract more buyers for their sexy undies range

The Waxx boxer shorts are characterised by their bold, colourful patterns. It’s for this reason that they’re great as presents as you can buy a boxer that suits the recipient perfectly! For example, if you have a friend that’s seen as a bit of a womaniser then the obvious choice is the brief named ‘horny’ with pictures of scantily clad ladies on! For a boyfriend who likes to flash the cash, get him the ‘cash’ boxer with dollar bills printed all over it! Other fun designs include dice, ducks, jackpot symbols and even condoms!

Now is such a good time to start looking to purchase men’s underwear. A recent survey showed that men in their 20s and 30s are still getting pants from their mothers for Christmas! If this is to be believed then it’s unlikely that these men are experimenting with fashion-forward bold designs like those made by brands such as Waxx. That is why now is such a good time to buy men underwear as it can replace the boring, standard boxers that he’s received from family members! Not only that, but now it’s time for the January sales and they’re available at a massive 70% off!!!! All boxers come in a funky gift tin making it perfect for an early Valentines Day present!

So go on, ‘be cheeky’ and buy your man a fun pair of boxer briefs to tell him what you really think of him!

Every man has their own sense of style, but for those with a little extra mass purchasing plus sized clothing can be a difficult challenge due to the fact that there are not a wide variety of options available on high street.  In fact, unfortunately many men end up purchasing clothes that they do not even like and are much dressier, when they would prefer casual due to the fact that conservative clothing lines are often the only ones that carry plus sizes.  However, you can really delight your boyfriend this winter by heading online to look at specialty shops that offer great men’s clothes in plus sizes such as Jacamo Men’s clothing.

One common mistake that men often make when dressing themselves is that they choose clothing that is too large for them because they are trying to hide their belly bulge.  This happens even more frequently when it comes to men’s plus sizes because in an attempt to hide a belly bulge the man loses his shape all together as the material drapes over their shoulders making them appear to have bad posture and look even larger than they are.  You can remedy this and really light up their face by heading online for sweaters and shirts designed to fit plus sizes so that your boyfriend gets the proper fit both around their belly and their collarbone.

This problem is even worse for plus sized males that are shorter, because dress shirts or sweaters hang down past their waist.  In an attempt to hide this fact most plus sized guys will tuck them in, but as a result the waist gets even thicker making them appear worse.  However, when you start to look at designer lines that are available online from stores such as Jacamo Men, you can find plus sizes that allow room for a bit of extra mass without sacrificing length of forcing your boyfriend to adjust their sense of personal style.

When shopping for plus sized clothing for men problems often arrive when searching for jeans and trousers.  This is another area that you can head online for help with because designs by Jacamo account for all sizes and tastes so that your man can finally dress the way he wants and not the way that the few pieces of clothing on the rack force them too.  There is a wide array of pants available online including dress slacks, corduroy bottoms, and jeans that are cut to fit all styles and preferences.

Keep in mind while shopping for your boyfriend however that while you do not want clothes that fit properly, try to stay away from styles that fit too tightly because you do not want to accentuate these features by heading too far in the other direction.  Instead, a loose fitted drink is what you should be aiming for.

Whether we want to admit it or not, winter is just around the corner and that means that it’s time to bid adieu to summer dresses, shorts and sandals and embrace this chilly season. Luckily for men and women alike, with many ladies and men’s jackets hitting British stores, we can find a way to stay warm and stay fashionable all at once.

While most of us wish that summer would go on forever and the warm sun could always be at our beck and call, it doesn’t mean that we have to look at winter as a time in which we are stuck inside due to the cold temperatures that take hold of Britain.

Dressing for the weather is of course very important. In order to ensure that we can stay healthy and avoid falling victim to a nasty cold, we must be sure to dress warmly and keep ourselves covered.

British style is deeply influenced by the seasons, and if any country manages to create classic pieces for colder days it is ours.

We all know that it can be a great deal of fun to watch and see what each clothing company develops for their new seasonal collections, and it’s no different for winter than it is for summer.

Dressing for winter is all about balancing practicality with style. You’ll want to layer up of course, but this doesn’t mean you have to bulk yourself up to the point where you simply look silly!

Girls; why not try putting together a nice pair of trousers with a warm shirt topped with one of the many ladies’ cardigans available in stores and online? These classic sweaters are great because not only will they keep you warm, they can complement most outfits. So, when purchasing them try to maximise your options by choosing neutral colours that will match all the pieces you already have in your wardrobe.

Whether you are a man or a woman, you will find that the item of clothing you will be using most during your time outside will be your winter coat. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you are going; whether it’s commuting to work or university, running errands or doing any odd thing in between, you’ll need to keep yourself warm and toasty while doing so.

Each season, new styles of jackets are released, so whether you are looking for a classic pea coat to hold you on the way to university or looking for a more pronounced city coat to keep you warm while heading to the office, you’ll find that the perfect coat is waiting for you. While we often think of black jackets as traditional and practical items of clothing, don’t be afraid to add a little more colour into your wardrobe.

Furthermore, for the cold winter days when it’s simply best to sit at home with your friends and family and enjoy the warmth, why not indulge in casual British luxury? Both ladies and men’s sweatshirts are comfortable options for you to throw on in the comfort of your own home.

Another thing about winter that we can look forward to is accessorising our new outfits with lovely extra bits.

In the summer, it is a bit distressing to notice so many people going around without pretty scarves around their necks to keep themselves warm. A scarf can really bring new life to an old outfit, and considering we come from a nation that loves to wear them, it’s nice to know that we’ll be able to see more of these lovely bits being sold in clothing shops and online.

Aside from scarves, another great accessory that will keep us warm is a solid pair of gloves. Whether you’re a burly man looking for the biggest and puffiest set of warms to put on your mitts, or if you’re a lady looking for a sleek set of leather gloves, you’ll find that you have many options.

Finishing your winter outfit from head to toe, it’s always a good idea to invest in a pair of boots to keep your legs and feet warm during your time outside. And while you’re at it, you might as well invest in a few pairs of wool socks to make things even better for your limbs.

Winter style will literally have you covered, but there’s no reason why you can’t be kept safe from the cold while still looking rather regal. While we all seem to love traditional neutral and dark colours at this time of year, don’t be afraid to incorporate an extra bit of colour into your outfits. Whether it’s vying for a bright coat or even a bold scarf, you’ll find that little things like this will really help you to stand out and express your individuality even more.

And even if you’re not willing to go down the main road to choose which of the many ladies jackets available in stores is best for you, you’ll find that you can purchase this season’s coat online. Then, once you are sorted out, you will be able to brave the cold weather and show it that when it comes to style, you’ve got the upper hand.

Having style is all about seeing what is out there and available and making it your own. There are so many great pieces of clothing that are hitting British stores now, so allow yourself the chance to get excited by it all!

Yes, summer came and went as fast as a breeze, but don’t let yourself get too upset by this. It’s nice to know that we can now indulge in the fact that a new season means new opportunities to spruce up our wardrobes and fill them with beautiful new pieces. Even though winter is roaring around the corner, you can roar right back at it and hit the streets in style in fantastically stylish warm clothing.

The website currently allows women to order designer buys from the boutique that arrive in black significantly high class boxes.  Due to its high rate of success over the last ten years, Natalie Massanet, its creator, has decided to add men’s clothes to her list, which also includes the bargain website ‘The Outnet.’

The Mr. Porter site will launch at the beginning of 2011 and will offer wears from all the best men’s brands including Rick Owens, Burberry, YSL, and Margaret Howell.

Although the site is designed for men, it is a safe bet to guess that most of the users will be women that want to dress their men a bit better for a bit less with Massanet even admitting that they already have the customer base for the men’s division given the fact that most of her customers already have a man in their life.
