lip service Lip Service

The application of lipstick is an art that has been around for about 5,000 years. Most women feel somehow incomplete till they dab that little bit of colour on their lips. It somehow seems to give the face more focus. Even if you think you are an expert, there are always some tricks that you might not possibly know. Since lipstick happens to be the most popular make up essential, the techniques of its application also grew. If you understand lipsticks, you would be able to use them more effectively.

The bullet lipsticks are the most popular form of lip paint over the years. But the best results would be if even this was applied with a lip brush. There are certain tricks and tips that every woman should know about while applying make up or even while out shopping for it. If you want your lipstick to last longer then look for one with more pigment. Lip gloss is what one seems to go for these days. You may use them on their own or add as a final coat to give it an extra shine. But even better would be to start with a lip salve or balm. This helps the colour stay longer and the lipstick from cracking on the lips.

Lipstick can be used as blush. Just a little lipstick can add a glow that is oh so natural. Just use your fingertips to dot cheeks and blend it well with a make up sponge. It’ll soon fade into the skin leaving just the right tint. Who wants to resemble a Raggedy Ann Doll at the end of day? Just make sure that the shade is appropriate. Also remember that while lipstick can be used as blush, blush can never ever be used as lipstick.

Practically everyone has at least some shades of lipstick that they don’t like. It happens most of the time when you like the shade at the counter while buying it but when you actually try it out at home, it just doesn’t go with you. Don’t ever throw that shade in the bin. Recycle it! Blend them with each other. Don’t throw away that favourite shade of fresh lipstick that just broke. Put it back in the tube and use it with a lip brush. Ditto when you are left just with your lipstick stub. Not only will you have the most unusual shades but think of the money that you would end up saving!

You don’t really have to go the way others have always done. Be innovative. Be creative. You needn’t start with a liner and then fill in. You could apply the lip liner in the end to give it that pout you might have always wanted. You could also use the lip liner as a base. Just apply a little and use your finger to spread it out evenly. Splash a bit of colour or add a dab of it, just service those lips with care.
