Sophie Anderton is said to be popping out on the catwalk this week as part of the Contour Fashion Show in London held by the Leicester De Montfort University in their first annual event.
The show will feature nineteen bodywear and lingerie designers from the future at both the DMU Fashion and Contour Design and Contour Fashion courses. The catwalk event will take place in Covent Garden at Freemason’s Hall.
The students are all third year and will watch their garments come to life on the runway during shows scheduled at 4pm and 7pm with Anderton due to model an outfit that is part of the evening show. She will also be in attendance at a special VIP reception after the fashion show ends.
The DMU contour instruction started almost 64 years ago and its specific offer of a Contour Fashion degree was one of the first across the globe created by the industry to address a specific need. At the present, it is still unique due to its approach to design clothing that is technically great but still greatly aesthetic.
Previous alumni include Janet Reger and many buyers and designers for brands such as Mio Destino and Agent Provocateur.
The panel of judges consists of many DMU experts as well as top industry names from Stretchline, Harriet’s Muse, and Triumph. It was last month that the final choice of students whose work will be featured was chosen.
Programme Leader, Gillian Proctor, stated that the show will be an historic event for the university and allow students to show their talent on the catwalk for the first time. Proctor added the students have worked hard on their designs and have created work that shows the proper values of body contouring.
