It’s that time of year again, where we’re jetting off to sunnier shores on our summer holidays, which can mean only one thing – it’s swimwear season!

This can mean one of two things for us ladies; either we’ll be looking forward to getting a nice bronze tan on the beach, or we’ll be dreading getting our kit off in public and exposing those white wobbly bits to the world!

Many women think that bikinis are just for the super skinny, supermodel types but that couldn’t be further from the truth. These days there are a variety of different bikini designs, to help flatter most figures so don’t rule them out completely before you’ve taken a good look around.

If you’re skinny and boyish in body shape than the traditional triangle style bikini could be for you, but this isn’t the case for fuller body shapes. If you’re very busty then look for bikinis that give you the support that you need. This can come in the shape of underwiring or halterneck styles that offer a little more support. Busty women should avoid bandeau or strapless styles, as this can lead to gravity getting the better of you!

Women with big bottoms might fear wearing a bikini as they don’t want to show off their ample bottom half, but there are some new styles that can help minimise the amount of flesh on show. Try a bikini with boyish shorts for more coverage, or opt for a ‘skirtini’ which has bikini bottoms with a short swim skirt built in, giving a more feminine option.

For those ladies who are worried about their tummies, why not opt for a tankini? This is a two piece with a longer top, which can help cover up your stomach, while some come with built in control panels for additional support.

No matter what your body shape – there’s a bikini style for you!
