New life has been breathed into Katherine Hooker’s summer collection, courtesy of the chic and stylish Tallulah jacket. With a clear inspiration coming from the classic hacking jacket, the Tallulah emphasises the shape of the wearer and has sculptured shoulders and clean lines.
Katherine Hooker designs and tailors pieces exquisitely, and this new collection refines them further and the timeless elegance of summer linen in a big influence. The Tallulah jacket has only one button, so looks equally good whether fastened or casually left open. The waist is accentuated by a single high back vent and the subtly angles pockets are in a contrasting silk.
Speaking about her new collection, Katherine Hooker says that she has changed the angle of the pockets, lost the breast pockets but kept the classic cut. By making the jacket from top quality linen the wearer embraces the creases instead of being irritated by them and the result is a perfect summer jacket.
“These are pieces that last a lifetime, cross continents and get even better with age. These are clothes for adventures and romance.”
Katherine continues “I design clothes for people to live in. Clothes can change the way people feel, the way they walk and even the way they conduct business. I like the simplicity of that. You can step into your jacket and feel a million dollars.”
Katherine Hooker customers include Kate Middleton, Kirstie Allsopp, Jemma Kidd, Plum Sykes, Jerry Hall, Yoko Ono and Sarah Brown.
The Tallulah jacket costs from £490 for the Express collection. Shown here in a natural and white herringbone linen (S860) and trimmed with mushroom silk velvet.
