American born English actress Sienna Miller is making waves in London as she gets set to premiere her fashion debut at London’s Fashion Week next month. Together with her older sister Savannah, Sienna has co-designed what is thought to be a fabulous collection that is sure to set the runway on fire. Best known for her acting credits in Edge of Love, Factory Girl, and Alfie, Sienna is ready to move on to something that uses her design skills as well as her acting skills.
This isn’t the first time Sienna has collaborated with Savannah though and in some ways it has been a long process to get onto the catwalk. She helped to design a fashion capsule for Pepe Jeans which was later expanded to be a complete label which was launched in September 2007 called Twenty8Twelve which gets its name from Miller’s date of birth. Financially backed by Pepe Jeans, her sister Savannah helped collaborate on this project as well, but as it stands, they are both ready to take it to the next level. That would of course be the London Fashion Week, specifically on February 22nd. Twenty8Twelve are due to follow big names such as Nicole Farhi, Christopher Kane and more which is quite different from just selling their clothes in local stores.
In a joint statement, Sienna, 27, and Savannah, 30, said: “We are so excited to be showing at London Fashion Week.
“Twenty8Twelve is now in its fifth season and we just felt it was ready to be taken to the next level.”
Savannah has been a professional designer, but it was “Sienna that has always had a forward thinking in her approach to fashion” says Savannah. Savannah graduated in 2004 with a first class honours degree in fashion design and has never looked back. Working for big names like Betty Jackson and Alexander McQueen just to name a few has sealed her fate as an excellent designer, and together with Sienna, their label is sure to be a big hit.
